This is the tipical litterbox that 40 million homes in North The united states, have in it. Or something similar. In 2007 consumers spent $40 billion on their pets. Forcasts for 2010 are expected to reach $50 billion in sales. It is hard to know what the best products are, for you & your pets. New products are being introducted to the market everyday, on top of the mounds of existing ones. It is important when choosing a litterbox, for your cat, to not only think about price, but also functionality.A litterbox should offer the customer solutions to the common problems a litterbox brings. Namely mess & odor. If your litter box cannot provide you with solutions to those basic problems; then it is time the alter litterboxes. As you will see sometimes the best products can be functional & affordable. This litterbox critique will provide consumers with information that will help them to make an informed decision about their next litterbox purchase.

Pros:-The basic litter pan/tray can be found in stores for about $10-$20 depending on its size.-Come in a range of sizes/colours.-accomodates multiple felines.Cons:-The basic pan is wide open; no privacy for cat.-Litter is easily spread throughout the litterbox area & your home.-no odor control-Other animals have access to pan.-not an appealling look, embarrassing, you need to hide it.Although the basic pan/tray is affordable it is not functional. Usually made of porus plastic that will trap & hold odor & moisture. Not a long lasting product. Liners are usually necessary. But the biggest concern with this type of litterbox is that there is not protection from spraying litter. Your felines natural instincts become your worst mess. Finally, most of the litter that ends up on the floor gets swept in to the garbage, wasting unused litter.

The Covered Litterbox

Furniture Litterbox

Pros:-Ranges in price from $25-40.00-offered in a range of sizes & colours.-Provides some privacy for your cat-Controls some litter spray-easy access to pan for cleaningCons:-Most felines prefer dark, private spaces when using their litterbox. The basic covered box does not offer a enclosed, dark area.-Your cat steps out of the litterbox onto your floor, tracking litter throughout your home.-no odor control-Other animals can access the litter.-Litter spray will shoot out the door opening onto your floor.-Door opening requires felines to step up in to the litterbox. Difficult for aging felines.-Still a litterbox you will need to hide.

Pros:-Affordable retailing at $57-$85.00-Appearance lets you put it anywhere in your home.-Front door opening allows for easy access to litter pan.-Fits in to most decors.-Large to accomodate over 1 cat.-Offers your cat a more private area.Cons:-Door enterance is a huge whole right in the front.-Requires you purchase a giant litter tray to insert inside.-No odor control-Litter spray is deposited directly onto your floor.-Cat has to step up in to the litterbox. Difficult for older felines.-Not pretty

The Isle Bay

Is This The Litterbox That Will Solve Your Problem?

The Littermaid

The Litter Genie

Pros:-Never must scoop again.-charcoal filter to control odorCons:-Retail beginning at $99.00-Litter is still necessary, problem of sprayed litter outside the littermaid still exists.-What do you do if your Littermaid stops going, the cat won't.-Replaceable parts necessary for operating.-Other animals have complete access.-Little to no privacy for your cat.-Still not that great to look at.

What About This Monster

Pros:-Never must scoop litter again.-Dome accessories available-Multiple cat useCons:-Retailing at $300.00-Must be setup next to a water source.-Cannot be put anywhere in your home-Not recommended for felines under age 6 months-Accessories & cartridges necessary (extra costs)-Not attractive-Machanical parts that can wear over time-Older felines may have difficultly stepping up in to the litterboxOverall an innovative product, but with the cost of water & hydro; as well as the cost of the unit, the Litter Genie is pricey to own & operate.

Can You Afford To Own This Litterbox?

The Litter Robot

Pros:-Never must scoop again!-No more odor!-No wasted tidy litter.-No cartridges necessary.Cons:-Retailing at $359.00-Operates only with Hydro; more expense to operate.-Not pretty. Still should hide it away.-Some training necessary to get cat to use the Litter Robot.-You need a backup litterbox incase of breakdowns.

The LitterHouse Litterbox

Could This New Litterbox Be The Answer?

Pros:-Retailing at $79.99-Fully enclosed, 95% of sprayed litter remains inside the house. Seldom vaccum or sweep again. No more tracking litter mess.-Chimney charcoal filter controls odor-Patented walkway collects litter from felines paws.-Made from durable high desity polystyrene, so odor & moisture cannot seep in to the plastic.-No liners necessary.-Keeps other animals out of litter.-Looks great in any room!-This litterbox could be easily converted to a lounge house for your cat or little dog.Cons:-Regular scooping necessary.-12 pieces to assemble.-Only available in blue, at this time.-Only recommended for felines upto 22lbs.Visit us at http://www.domain.com/and see why they think the LitterHouse is the best litterbox on the market today. Competitively priced & the LitterHouse is the most functional litterbox available.

The Results

The Best Litterbox

By 2010 consumers of pet products will be spending $50 billion every year. I have personally contributed to this wealth in the pet industry. I purchased & tried, plenty of of the types of litterboxes mentioned above. None of the litterboxes I purchased made me happy about my felines litterbox. The LitterHouse is a new product on the market this year. The invention was directly inspired by Sox, our cat. Why have a huge whole in the front of the litterbox? They patented a walkway & attached it directly to the litter pan & put seven walls around it.Now Sox has his own house. I scoop as usual & seldom must vaccum or sweep. Easy, fast cleaning. Sox loves his LitterHouse & so do I.We spend so much funds on our pets to keep them happy & healthy, why not buy a product such as a cat litter box that works! LitterHouse wins paws down!!

Cat Health Indicators To Look for

As a cat owner here are health indicators to look for that can be warning signs that warrant a trip to the Vet. While it is impossible to protect your dog every minute of the day; it is important to discourage the practise when ever possible.

The majority of dog owners will tell you; Canines love eating feces. Throughout a regular day your dog may have plenty of opportunities to consume this harmful matter. While they find the idea revolting, canines will crave & actively search out animal feces. Pet experts claim, the dog actually like the taste. Other experts say its a combination of taste & vitamin deficiency. Feces can have a high concentration of protein, but it also has internal parasites, organisms such as Toxoplasma gondii is transmitted in some cat feces. This can cause a dog a variety of problems, including Central Nervous Process & Muscle destroy.

The more serious hazard is present when pet owners have canines & felines co-habitating in the same home. This offers your dog a buffet of snacks that is readily available. Canines that consume cat litter from a litter pan are at high risk of serious internal destroy & possibly even death. Cat litter contains some toxic ingredients, that when exposed to the inside of your canines stomach, will harden & cause blockages. Plenty of canines have lost there lives from intestinal blockage.

Canines can experience mild symptoms, like tiredness, lack of appetite, fever & even vomiting, when they have consumed even a moderate amount of feces. These symptoms are plenty of times overlooked because it is difficult for the dog owner to diagnose, but plenty of times, when your dog is not himself; chances are they has been exposed to feces parasites. In general, small doses of these consumed parasites are not usually manifested in to anything over a listliss dog. No appetite & no energy. Usually these symptoms will pass after a day or so. Similar to you having a chilled.

It is recommended that a hooded litter box, like the LitterHouse cat litter box, be used in homes with felines & canines. This type of litter box restricts the dog access to the litter pan & your worry of fatal intestinal blockage is eliminated. But with growing popularity comes increased risk. They began to notice that every now & then they would get an inquiry from someone claiming to be interested in purchasing inventory. Most often they were located in India or Australia or some place like that. Seldom from North The united states!

These days everyone is on alert for scams. It's become impossible for you to keep up on all the potential dangers. New businesses are at high risk & must guard their company information. Protecting their customers as well as themselves.

Fraudulent parties looking to prey on unsuspecting businesses, they have received huge cheques in the mail & credit cards. All turned out to be a scam.

Here are some precise things to look for if you suspect a fraudulent transaction.

In our case, the purchasing party responded with short responses & tiny information about their company. They ordered a huge quantity of the product & said they would pay & provide the shipping. The scam was; after providing payment (a cheque), they instructed me to deposit the cheque & withdraw the cost of shipping in money. A number determined by them. Then the instructions were to make payment to the shipper through a third party money transfer centre. The freight funds actually was being sent back to them. They would seldom pick up the order, no shipper would come. & the cheque? It of coursework would bounce. They banks won't reimburse you for such fraudulent transactions; & you are out the cost paid for shipping, when the cheque is reversed. Luck for us, they did not make the transfer!

1. Are they asking to provide there own carrier? The majority of business owners, (unless very huge) will ask your company to ship. Not provide their own.
2. Are they sending all the funds up front. Usual business practice is to with hold a percentage of the payment: to be sure the shipment is received in nice order.
3. Are they asking you to pay their third party shipper through an "instant funds transfer". Most of the places that transfer funds do not offer any protection to the sender. How do you know who is receiving the funds.
4. Throughout a regular day your dog may have plenty of opportunities to consume this harmful matter. While they find the idea revolting, canines will crave and actively search out animal feces. Pet experts claim, the dog actually like the taste. Other experts say its a combination of taste and vitamin deficiency. Feces can have a high concentration of protein, but it also has internal parasites, organisms such as Toxoplasma gondii is transmitted in some cat feces. This can cause a dog a variety of problems, including Central Nervous Method and Muscle destroy.

Out in the park, on nature hikes through the forest, long walks through the neighbourhood, even in your own back yard, your dog can find other animals feces. everywhere you would take your dog, there is a danger of them consuming harmful parasites. While it is impossible to protect your dog every minute of the day; it is important to discourage the practise when ever possible.

The more serious hazard is present when pet owners have canines and felines co-habitating in the same home. This offers your dog a buffet of snacks that is readily obtainable. Canines that consume cat litter from a litter pan are at high risk of serious internal destroy and possibly even death. Cat litter contains some toxic ingredients, that when exposed to the inside of your canines stomach, will harden and cause blockages. Plenty of canines have lost there lives from intestinal blockage.

Canines can experience mild symptoms, like tiredness, lack of appetite, fever and even vomiting, when they have consumed even a moderate amount of feces. These symptoms are plenty of times overlooked because it is difficult for the dog owner to diagnose, but plenty of times, when your dog is not himself; chances are he's been exposed to feces parasites. In general, tiny doses of these consumed parasites are not usually manifested in to anything over a listliss dog. No appetite and no energy. Usually these symptoms will pass after a day or so. Similar to you having a cold.

It is recommended that a hooded litter box, like the LitterHouse cat litter box, be used in homes with felines and canines. This type of litter box restricts the dog access to the litter pan and your worry of fatal intestinal blockage is eliminated. Despite lots of advancements the standard household litter box still remains nothing over an indoor out house. When your cat exits the litter box, bacteria & odor causing compounds can be tracked althrough the household. This can cause respiratory problems for your cat & your relatives. Today, the pet industry is full of harsh chemical disinfectants & deodorizer sprays & powders. They profess their effectiveness at reducing & eradicating foul pet odors. A majority of these products in reality are a short term strategy that conceal disagreeable smells. Ozone is a new feature in several litter boxes that uses air purification technology to remove odor, harmful dust, & eliminate harmful germs & bacteria. Ozone is an unstable form of oxygen that contains an extra atom which bonds to harmful contaminants & deactivates them. These types of cat litter boxes are a breakthrough at generating a healthy environment for your relatives & your pet.

How To Spoil Your Cat Rotten

Dear friends thanks for reading my blog here are some key tips that I follow to make my cat pampered. Personally I prefer to utilize World's Best Cat Litter because of many benefits and it is a healthy alternative to clay clumping litter types. I avoid clumping litters because they pose serious health risks to your cat and household members. The Worlds Best Cat Litter® Is Best For You And Your Cat:
Safe, chemical-free, all-natural, corn cat litter. Kitty litter made of corn? You bet! And it's not made from the cobs either - World's Best Cat Litter is made from food-grade corn kernels!
Naturally Clumping, septic-safe and truly flushable - without the hazards of clay-based clumping litters! The NA50 brings air regeneration technology to you in a small package. It's the perfect unit to place near a litter box, trash receptacle or other “problem” area of up to 500 sq. feet. The NA50 is designed to plug directly into any standard 110V household outlet and provide 24/7 service using both negative ions and activated oxygen emissions. The NA50 now has a side mounted switch for both High and Low settings to adjust the unit for any application. Measuring only 3.5” x 2.5” x 2”, the NA50 uses a scant 15W of electrical power for super efficient operation.
Why is "fresh air" fresh?

A big, deep breath of fresh mountain or seashore air. Makes you feel good physically, mentally, and spiritually, doesn't it?

Scientists are attempting to discover just why it is that, say after a thunderstorm, people seem so energized. Or why when a dry hot wind blows off the desert people seem to irritable.

They've learned that one reason for that good feeling is the "balance" of elements (including Ozone and negative ions) in the air we breath. When the air is "balanced" or regenerated by lightning and moving water (waterfalls or ocean waves) our mood is light and spirits lifted. When the air is "unbalanced" by pollutants such as dust, bacteria, chemicals, etc., we're discomforted -- our moods are darker, we don't feel as good as we think we should.

The beauty of negative ions

Beside being "mood elevators," negative ions are Mother Nature's air cleaners. Pollution-bearing positive ions are attracted to them like iron to a magnet. When negative ion and pollution-bearing positive ion come together, the combined matter is too heavy to float and falls to the earth.

Negative ions are short-lived. They need to be constantly replenished. Tightly closed and insulated offices and homes keep negative ions out while allowing positive ions to accumulate.

An ion generator such as used in the Natural Air regeneration process constantly replenishes negative ions in the atmosphere. These not only improve our sense of well-being, but remove contaminants from the air.

The cleansing power of Ozone

Ozone is "activated oxygen," (O3) a form of oxygen that carries three atoms instead of the more common two (O2). The three-atom form of oxygen is highly unstable. It seeks out and deposits its excess third atom on organic molecules it comes in contact with. Organic molecules such as those creating odors (onions, cooking odors, etc) and other molecules can be "oxidized," -- deactivated or destroyed -- by the free oxygen atom.

As one of Mother Nature's most effective cleansers, Ozone flows freely over surfaces and into crevices, reducing odors and contaminants. Ozone can also attack volatile organic compound odors emitted from glue, paint, carpet, plastics, plywood and other composite materials as well as lingering odors left by powerful household cleaning products.

The difference between an air regenerator and an air filter

An air regenerator mimics to the fullest extent possible Mother Nature's own air freshening/cleansing properties. Air regenerators such as Natural Air don't require filters or powerful fans. They send their air cleansing elements out into the air, rather than pull air through a filter to clean it.

An air filter is basically a screen which traps and holds pollutants from the air its fan pulls through it. Filters fine enough to trap smoke require a strong fan. As the filter traps more and more particulates, more and more fan power is required. Filters fill up with entrapped matter and must be frequently changed.

To truly cleanse the air of contaminants such as smoke and the fine dust that enters the lungs, a filter must trap particles as small as .01-1 micron. One micron equals 1/25,400th of an inch. Even then, all of the air in the room must somehow go through the filter.

Air regenerators such as Natural Air, however, make particles larger and Mother Nature (gravity) does the rest.

Why you should be concerned about the quality of indoor air?

• Air pollution poses a health hazard in forty percent of all buildings, according to the World Health Organization.

• Twenty percent of all employees suffer major illness related to indoor air pollution. Illnesses include allergies, asthma, and auto-immune disease.

• Some 6,000 new chemical compounds are developed each year. Many of these are used indoors, at home or at work. Their fumes join with those of older compounds, such as the formaldehyde used in carpet and building materials.

• On average, indoor air is 2-10 times more polluted than the worst outdoor air.

• Virus and bacteria, including those that cause the flu and TB, thrive in the ductwork and heating/cooling coils of air conditioning systems. Some HVAC systems have been found to contain up to 27 different species of fungi.

Based on information given at the First Annual Air Quality Convention sponsored by the EPA, Tampa, Fl, April 1992.

Get the Most From Your Natural Air Regenerator

Natural Air can do far more than deliver mountain fresh air and remove dust, smoke and odors from cooking, mold, chemicals, etcetra. It's a highly versatile and useful tool to cleanse your whole house!

Fresh up your whole-house air conditioning system.

Put your Natural Air unit as close as possible to the main Cold-Air Return of your system. (The main duct where air is drawn from the house into the AC system for heating and cooling). Set Natural Air's "Purify" on "High" and the fan on "Low." Then turn on your AC system fan to run continuously ("Fan ON"). Let it run for at least six hours and up to 12 hours. Natural Air can reduce skin dander, pollen, even odor molecules trapped within the air ducts. It's like having the ducts cleaned, only easier (and less expensive!)

Refresh your beds.

Put Natural Air at the foot end of the bed. Make a "tent" over it with the top sheet. (Put the pillows on each side to help support the tent.) Make sure the back of your Natural Air unit is open to the outside air so it can draw in and blow regenerated air into the tent. Set both "Purify" and the fan on "High" and let it run for at least two hours. Natural Air's ozone will clean the bedding. There's nothing better than a night's sleep in a freshened-up bed!

Clean the kid's rooms and confined areas.

Natural Air's regeneration process reduces germs on surfaces in the following manner. Place Natural Air in an elevated position facing the area to be cleaned. Set both "Purifier" and the fan on "High" and let it run for up to two hours. During this period, leave the room unoccupied as the ozone level may be irritating to some people, especially children and the elderly.

Clean the bathrooms.

Place Natural Air in an elevated position. Open cabinet doors, shower doors, lid on toilet. Face Natural Air toward any problem areas such as mold on tile. Set both "Purifier" and the fan on "High," close the door and leave the room unoccupied and let it run for at least 2 hours.

Freshen your clothes closets.

Elevate Natural Air on a stool facing the open closet. Space out clothes on hangers to assist air flow among them. Set Natural Air's Purifier on "High" and the fan about half-speed and let it run for at least an hour. Not only freshens the clothes, but destroys any lingering odor from shoes.

Deodorize pet areas.

Pet bed areas, or (especially) cat litter box areas, often need odor control. Elevate Natural Air above and facing the area to be treated, set both "Purify" and the fan on "High," run for one to two hours. Natural Air will even remove the scent of cat urine embedded in carpet and other floor covering! Be patient! Heavy cat urine odors may take six to twelve hours to eliminate.

Freshen-up your car.

Place Natural Air in an elevated position (the center console, for example) in your car. Connect with a three-prong (grounded) extension cord to a nearby outlet. Set "Purify" and fan on "High." Run for 1 hour. For maximum effect, run the car's air-conditioner on "Re-circulate) for about half an hour.

Sports shoes and equipment

Put sports shoes and sweat-scented equipment within about three feet of Natural Air. Set "Purifier" on "High," set fan on "Low." Run for 30 minutes to an hour or until "sniff-test" determines deodorizing is complete.

Put Natural Air's unique purifying, cleansing and deodorizing capability to the test! Then write and tell us of your successes so we can pass ideas along to other Natural Air users.

Testimonials

I had just moved in to a new home with my three dogs. After a couple of dog ‘accidents’ in one of the carpeted rooms… There was a terrible odor. I tried everything from the every day carpet cleaners to products sold by my local vet. Nothing worked, until I plugged in the NA50. After only 2 to 3 hours the room had a fresh and clean smell. I was able to feel comfortable about having guests in the room once again. The battle was over and NA50 stays plugged in leaving more than just one room smelling fabulously fresh.

Amazing Videos Of Pets

Here are some amazing videos of pets welcoming home their best friend and owner from serving our Country in war. Throughout a regular day your dog may have many opportunities to consume this harmful matter. While we just find the idea revolting, dogs will crave and actively search out animal feces. Pet experts claim, the dog actually like the taste. Other experts say its a combination of taste and vitamin deficiency. Feces can have a high concentration of protein, but it also has internal parasites, organisms such as Toxoplasma gondii is transmitted in some cat feces. This can cause a dog a variety of problems, including Central Nervous System and Muscle damage.

Out in the park, on nature hikes through the forest, long walks through the neighbourhood, even in your own back yard, your dog can find other animals feces. Almost everywhere you would take your dog, there is a danger of them consuming harmful parasites. While it is impossible to protect your dog every minute of the day; it is important to discourage the practise when ever possible.

Dogs can experience mild symptoms, like tiredness, lack of appetite, fever and even vomiting, when they have consumed even a moderate amount of feces. These symptoms are many times overlooked because it is difficult for the dog owner to diagnose, but many times, when your dog is not himself; chances are he has been exposed to feces parasites. In general, small doses of these consumed parasites are not usually manifested into anything more than a listliss dog. No appetite and no energy. Usually these symptoms will pass after a day or so. Similar to you having a cold.

The more serious hazard is present when pet owners have dogs and cats co-habitating in the same home. This offers your dog a buffet of snacks that is readily available. Dogs that consume cat litter from a litter pan are at high risk of serious internal damage and possibly even death. Cat litter contains some toxic ingredients, that when exposed to the inside of your dogs stomach, will harden and cause blockages. Many dogs have lost there lives from intestinal blockage.

It is recommended that a hooded litter box, like the LitterHouse cat litter box, be used in homes with cats and dogs. Despite many advancements the standard household litter box still remains nothing more than an indoor out house. When your cat exits the litter box, bacteria and odor causing compounds can be tracked althrough the household. This can cause respiratory problems for your cat and your family. Today, the pet industry is full of harsh chemical disinfectants and deodorizer sprays and powders. They profess their effectiveness at reducing and eradicating foul pet odors. A majority of these products in reality are a short term strategy that conceal unpleasant smells. Ozone is a new feature in several litter boxes that uses air purification technology to remove odor, harmful dust, and eliminate harmful germs and bacteria. Ozone is an unstable form of oxygen that contains an extra atom which bonds to harmful contaminants and deactivates them. These types of cat litter boxes are a breakthrough at creating a healthy environment for your family and your pet.

How do I keep my dog out of the cat's litterbox?

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 215px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_c4qNedC6fmw/St48tqSwRhI/AAAAAAAAACw/Ad9cLT0b6aM/s320/dogs.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394816158781163026" />
How do I keep my dog out of the cat's litterbox?

You need to train your dog not to go around the cat's litter box. You can tell the creator had a cat or two. It’s a great size and is enclosed to stop litter spillage. It also has a tray in the bottom with a pad to collect the urine while the top tray holds the litter itself. It was rather informative and made me realize how this issues is in fact important and worthy of attention. I've pasted this article below for you to check out yourself. Just make sure when you're done, you come back up and check out this link."

Find Out the Three Main Reasons Why Your Cat May Be Rejecting Their Litter Box

There are few things more frustrating than when your cat stops using their litter box. It can definitely add a tremendous amount of stress to your household, and can negatively affect your relationship with your cat. In fact, the non-use of the litter box is the number one behavioral reason why cats are abused, abandoned or put in shelters.

The first step is to determine why your cat's behavior has changed. There are three likely causes: medical ailments, territorial marking, or behavioral issues.

Signs that your cat is experiencing urinary problems include blood in the urine and increased frequency of urination. Although only one sixth of cats with urinary problems go outside the litter box, it could be a sign that they need medical attention. Seeing a veterinarian should be your first step so you can eliminate the possibility that health issues are causing your cat's litter box issues.

You may find that a senior or overweight cat suddenly stops using their litter box. This is often the case when the cat must go up or down steps to get to their litter box. If the box is located too far away, an elderly or overweight cat may not be able to get to the litter box in time. An arthritic cat may not be able to get up into the litter box if they have painful joints. Try having a box located on every level of the house. You can also build a small ramp leading up to the litter box if you think your cat is having problems with arthritis.

It is a natural behavior for both male and female cats to mark their territory. It should not be confused with a cat urinating outside the litter box. When a cat sprays, it will spray a small amount of urine to mark the object. Cats will usually choose objects such as walls, furniture, the floor, or on your clothes or bedding. When a cat is marking an object you will notice that your cat does not sniff and paw at the area like they would after urinating. Instead they will walk away which may leave a trail of urine. Cats may also mark their territory with feces. Signs of this type of territorial marking include defecation in an unusual spot such as on the counter or on your favorite chair.

Written by Julie Lind

Major Cat Litter Box Training Mistakes

"Surfing around the web today I had thoughts a lot about major cat litter box mistakes and I found an interesting article that talked about Major Cat Litter Box Training Mistakes. It's true, and sadly, your cat's preferences may not coincide with the owner's preferences in most cases.

Choosing the right cat litter and cat litter boxes for your cat (and not for you) is important. The rest of this article explains some key things to remember when picking the right cat litter and cat tray or box...

Mistake #2 - Not providing enough "drop zones"

Many owners do not provide enough litter boxes, particularly in households with numerous cats. The number of boxes in the home should equal the number of cats, plus one. For example, a two cat household needs three litter boxes.

It's a good idea to distribute your cat litter boxes evenly around the home. In homes with several floors, there should be at least one litter box on each floor of the house.

Finally, don't forget that each litter box must be kept very clean. Boxes should be scooped daily and completely emptied, washed and disinfected thoroughly every 1-2 weeks.

Isn't it time you discovered why most cat training aids don't work, and how to get inside your cat's mind and quickly teach them perfect behaviour from any age?

Ways to Stop Cat Litter Box Odor

"Surfing around the web this week I was thinking a lot about ways to stop cat litter box odor and I found an interesting article that talked about 10 simple ways to deal with cat litter box odor. It was rather informative and made me realize how this issues is in fact important and worthy of attention. I've pasted this article below for you to check out yourself. Just make sure when you're done, you come back up and check out this link." http://www.LitterHouse.com

10 Ways to Stop Cat Litter Box Odor - Simple Quick Steps to Do Now
By Luke Blaise

Cat litter box odor can really be a nuisance, especially if you live in a smaller apartment or a condominium. Even if you live in a larger house sometimes the smell can become overwhelming.

The reason that cat urine smells is because it contains a large amount of ammonia. Cat food is very high in protein, which leads to increased ammonia excretion through the urine. To help control cat litter box odor here are 10 tips to try:

1. Get an additional pan. When each pan is used less, they are better able to control smells.

2. Switch brands of cat litter. A good clumping brand is best. There is a big difference in the quality of odor control between different brands so experiment.

3. Scoop more frequently.

4. Buy baking soda and mix it in, or buy a brand that already has baking soda in it.

5. Replace all the litter more frequently or try using a pan liner.

6. Wash out the litter box with soap and water.

7. Deeper litter absorbs more smells, so add more.

8. Clean around the litter box. These areas tend be neglected because we have to move the box out of the way to clean it.

9. Change the location of the pan to a more ventilated area.

10. Buy an air purifier with a charcoal filter and place it near the cat area.

As you can see there are many different ways to go about solving cat litter box odor. The main thing is to experiment with different techniques and see which ones work best for you.

Important Cat Safety Tips

~ Leave several bowls of cool water around the house & replenish often.

~ Wipe down your cat’s body with a cool, wet towel.

~ Ensure there are cool areas for your pets to rest.

~ Keep your house well-ventilated.

~ Groom your pets regularly.

How To Keep a Clean Cat Litter Box

Here is an important question to ask yourself as a cat owner just how clean you should be keeping your cat's litter box? Your

cat should not have to dig around in its own odorous poop and that of other house cats, searching for a nice clean spot. In my opinion, a cat litter box is dirty once there are two to three cat waste items in it. Never let your cat litter box get as dirty as four to five items it just gets harder to clean and causes discomfort for your little guy. If because of a busy work schedule you can't clean your litter box then get more litter boxes but thats more to clean but better for the health of your cat. Having too little cat litter in the box is a common mistake. Most cat owners in fact put too little cat litter in the box defeating its purpose for absorbing waste. This results in waste residue ending up stuck to the bottom of the box for your cat to dig around in. This is not sanitary and in fact is eventually very expensive as you have to get a new litter box replacement. In the LitterHouse I fill the pan to about 3 inches of non clumping cat litter. I find that a corn or wheat base type works best for litter options. I then place the house back onto the pan using the side handles. Inside the house and pan when joined create a nice smooth seal that prevents litter spillage and urine leakage. My cats are big diggers if your cat is an aggressive digger and is flinging litter over the edge, you will need to get a hooded litter box such as the LitterHouse to prevent litter spillage. If the cat waste get stuck to the side of the box, move the cat litter away, remove the soiled ball and then clean the area with a dilute (1:30) bleach solution and a paper towel. Remember to clean that scooper as they can get quite messy. Allowing a scooper to stay soiled simply drags more bacteria through the litter. I recommend changing all the cat litter once a month and cleaning the litter tray thoroughly. My feeling is that I want my cats' bathroom to be very clean which makes my cats happy. My LitterHouse is very easy to clean.

Hooded cat litter boxes are neater – keeping the litter inside the litter box and also the urine if your cat tends to stand up to urinate. The LitterHouse design does a good job of keeping the urine inside of the box if your cat hits the lid. Other designs will sometimes allow the urine to leak out and onto the floor which defeats the purpose of a hooded litter box. A hooded cat litter box does contain the litter better than an unhooded box.

Major Reasons For Cats Not Using Litter Box

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 260px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_c4qNedC6fmw/StOwiQY15LI/AAAAAAAAACg/Bx3KQwXiWPU/s320/4a28697c6ab24faa1b89d4337.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5391847281453819058" />

1. My LitterHouse is very easy to clean.

Hooded Cat Litter Box Benefits

Hooded cat litter boxes Inorder to keep your cat happy here are some important cleaning tips. First, use the handles disguised as gable vents on each side to lift the house assembly from the litter pan. Second, disconnect the 1/2 inch walkway from the pan. This walkway collects litter from your kittens paws making reuse of the spilt litter easy. Empty contents into pan and reconnect. Third, use a litter scoop to remove soiled contents from pan. An important maintenance tip is to use tray liners for your LitterHouse pan. This makes clean up even easier. Once a month remove entire contents from litterbox and gently wash and rinse pan using a pet safe cleaner. Dry off and pour in fresh litter. Daily clean up for less than 5 minutes is recommended, your cat will be very happy. Finally, using gable vents as handles, lift the LitterHouse and reposition back onto litterpan. It is important to do this step gently to ensure correct placement. This way the unique all around lip can seal and prevent litter and messy spills. And don't forget about the odor blocking charcoal filter in the chimney.
The LitterHouse a fully enclosed unique and antique litterbox you will be proud to own.<div Stop coprophagia permanently!!
LitterHOUSE litter boxes help control the foul odor associated with your traditional cat litter box. The chimney charcoal filter works to diminish odors between regular litter box cleanings. LitterHOUSE chimney charcoal filters last up to six months. Order your refill charcoal filters here.
Thousands of dogs die every year, due to eating cat litter. The litter turns "cement like" in their stomach and intestines. Lungs and inner organs can also be effected. The LitterHOUSE litter box design does not allow dogs to get their heads into the litter pan area
If you own a dog; chances are you have experienced coprophagia (dogs eating feces). The word comes from the Greek, copro which means feces and phagy which means eat. And that is what it is eating feces. Although vulgar and disgusting for the owner; dog coprophagia is a common practice in all breeds of dogs; small puppies’ to older mature dogs. Nobody has any solid scientific evidence behind why animals engage in coprophagia. But some possible factors include vitamin deficiency and enjoyment.
Many animals, including dogs, may eat poop because poop contains vitamins produced by the intestinal bacteria that the animal can't absorb through the intestinal wall. So, they get these vitamins by eating poop. Dogs and some other animals also eat poop is because it contains protein. Dogs are particularly fond of cat poop because cat poop is high in protein. It is also suggested that dogs and other animals love the taste of feces.
It is quite common for dogs to pick up and eat animal feces while out walking in any park or forest setting. And while you may not see any harmful affects, the possibility of harm is present. Feces contains many parasites, including giardia, coccidia, roundworms and whipworms, which can be transmitted through dog, cat and other animal poop. These same parasites may also be transferred to you or other members of your family while snuggling with your dog.
The really serious dangers associated with dog coprophagia is when a household has dogs and cats co-existing in the same house. Cat litter is a deadly enemy to dogs. Think of what the litter does when a cat urinates in it. Similar things can happen in a dog's stomach if it eats enough of the litter. Litter and particularly clumping litter can pose a serious health threat to dogs that eat cat poop. Clumping clay litter, for example, expands by 15 times when wet and forms a clump. It could potentially cause a serious intestinal blockage.
A dog owner writes about his dog Frida: I just had my dog eat cat "Treats" for about a week. I thought that the cat was not pooping but then yesterday the dog started acting uncomfortable. It turns out that she has a "gastrointestinal obstruction" that could be lethal. The vet bill is already @ $500.00 just for x-rays, blood work, boarding and saline drip for hydration. They think they will have to operate tomorrow to remove the blockage for a small fee of $1600.00!!! Please don't let your dog eat Clumping Cat Litter with her "Tootsie Rolls" or it could cost you $2000.00+ or possibly even your dog’s life. Please pray for Frida.
The consumed cat litter can be difficult to remove even with surgery, as it can scatter throughout the digestive tract. This will eventually lead to death.
The LitterHOUSE cat litter box is the best litter box for households where cats and dogs are living together. It was quite a gruelling process.”Dragon’s Den is a reality show where entrepreneurs pitch their business concepts and products to a panel of Canadian business moguls who have cash to “make a deal.”Dykens went on the show with his business partner, Rob English, asking the moguls for marketing money. Dykens came up with the idea for a decorative litter box about 10 years ago when he was moving into an apartment with his cat, Sox.“Most people put their litter box in their basement so it’s out of sight. I didn’t have room in the apartment, so I needed a box I could put in my living room,” Dykens says. The former law enforcement officer came up with the idea of covering the litter box with a lid in the shape of a house. With the help of his sister, Barb Bruce, who has a business background, Dykens spent the next few years trying to patent his invention and get a prototype made — making modifications along the way. They added a walkway to the litter box — where the cat is forced to “wipe” its feet as it exits the box. The house also has built-in handles that look like gables for easy removal of the lid and a lip inside that forms a smooth seal preventing litter spills.Since last spring when the product was finally manufactured, over 54 independent pet stores, including Doogan’s Pet Emporium in Orangeville, have begun to carry the product; it’s also available on the Litterhouse website at www.litterhouse.ca.This was the local company’s third attempt to get on the Canadian TV show. They just found out last week that their episode would be aired.“Any exposure on television is good exposure,” says Bruce, president of the company. “Having the product aired on television we expect will increase our sales.”The local business owners didn’t want to ruin the show by publicizing whether they get a deal or not.Dykens did say he has gained valuable insight as a result of the experience. These days, when he sees his invention in the front window of pet stores, he feels a surge of pride.“It’s a heartwarming feeling. It’s been a long fight,” Dykens says. “To be the ‘father’ of an invention, it’s incredible.”Viewers can vote for The Litterhouse as the product that will get a deal on the Dragon’s Den website (www.cbc.ca/dragonsden); and, if the company gets the most votes, they could win an entrepreneur prize of $75,000. The Dragon’s Den airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. on CBC beginning Sept. 29.
http://www.mycatspace.com/me/rodfrench/blog/2008-08-21Cat-Litter-Box-Types--A-Comparison-Of-Value-And-Functionality-

Is This What Your Litter box Looks Like?
Does this cat litter box look like it is solving all the problems that cat owners endure? This is the tipical litterbox that 40 million homes in North America, have in it. Or something very similar. In 2007 consumers spent $40 billion on their pets. Forcasts for 2010 are expected to reach $50 billion in sales. It's hard to know what the best products are, for you and your pets. New products are being introducted to the market everyday, on top of the mounds of existing ones. It is important when choosing a litterbox, for your cat, to not only consider price, but also functionality.A litterbox should offer the customer solutions to the common problems a litterbox brings. Namely mess and odor. If your litter box can't provide you with solutions to those basic problems; then it is time the change litterboxes. As you will see sometimes the best products can be functional and affordable. This litterbox critique will provide consumers with information that will help them to make an informed decision about their next litterbox purchase.
The Common Litter Pan
Pros:-The basic litter pan/tray can be found in stores for about $10-$20 depending on its size.-Come in a range of sizes/colours.-accomodates multiple cats.Cons:-The basic pan is wide open; no privacy for cat.-Litter is easily spread throughout the litterbox area and your home.-no odor control-Other animals have access to pan.-not an appealling look, embarrassing, you need to hide it.Although the basic pan/tray is affordable it is not functional. Usually made of porus plastic that will trap and hold odor and moisture. Not a long lasting product. Liners are usually required. But the biggest concern with this type of litterbox is that there is not protection from spraying litter. Your cats natural instincts become your worst mess. Finally, most of the litter that ends up on the floor gets swept into the garbage, wasting unused litter.
The Covered Litterbox
Pros:-Ranges in price from $25-40.00-offered in a range of sizes and colours.-Provides some privacy for your cat-Controls some litter spray-easy access to pan for cleaningCons:-Most cats prefer dark, private spaces when using their litterbox. The basic covered box does not offer a completely enclosed, dark area.-Your cat steps out of the litterbox onto your floor, tracking litter throughout your home.-no odor control-Other animals can access the litter.-Litter spray will shoot out the door opening onto your floor.-Door opening requires cats to step up into the litterbox. Difficult for aging cats.-Still a litterbox you will want to hide.
Furniture Litterbox
The Isle Bay
Pros:-Affordable retailing at $57-$85.00-Appearance allows you to put it anywhere in your home.-Front door opening allows for easy access to litter pan.-Fits into most decors.-Large enough to accomodate more than 1 cat.-Offers your cat a more private area.Cons:-Door enterance is a big whole right in the front.-Requires you purchase a large litter tray to insert inside.-No odor control-Litter spray is deposited directly onto your floor.-Cat has to step up into the litterbox. Difficult for older cats.-Not really very attractive
The Littermaid
Is This The Litterbox That Will Solve Your Problem?
Pros:-Never have to scoop again.-charcoal filter to control odorCons:-Retail starting at $99.00-Litter is still required, problem of sprayed litter outside the littermaid still exists.-What do you do if your Littermaid stops going, the cat won't.-Replaceable parts required for operating.-Other animals have complete access.-Little to no privacy for your cat.-Still not that great to look at.
The Litter Genie
What About This Monster
Pros:-Never have to scoop litter again.-Dome accessories available-Multiple cat useCons:-Retailing at $300.00-Must be setup next to a water source.-Cannot be put anywhere in your home-Not recommended for cats under age 6 months-Accessories and cartridges required (extra costs)-Not very attractive-Machanical parts that can wear over time-Older cats may have difficultly stepping up into the litterboxOverall an innovative product, but with the cost of water and hydro; as well as the cost of the unit, the Litter Genie is costly to own and operate.
The Litter Robot
Can You Afford To Own This Litterbox?
Pros:-Never have to scoop again!-No more odor!-No wasted clean litter.-No cartridges required.Cons:-Retailing at $359.00-Operates only with Hydro; more expense to operate.-Not very attractive. Still should hide it away.-Some training required to get cat to use the Litter Robot.-You need a backup litterbox incase of breakdowns.
The LitterHouse Litterbox
Could This New Litterbox Be The Answer?
Pros:-Retailing at $79.99-Fully enclosed, 95% of sprayed litter remains inside the house. Never vaccum or sweep again. No more tracking litter mess.-Chimney charcoal filter controls odor-Patented walkway collects litter from cats paws.-Made from durable high desity polystyrene, so odor and moisture can't seep into the plastic.-No liners required.-Keeps other animals out of litter.-Looks great in any room!-This litterbox could be easily converted to a lounge house for your cat or small dog.Cons:-Regular scooping required.-12 pieces to assemble.-Only available in blue, at this time.-Only recommended for cats upto 22lbs.Visit us at www.litterhouse.comand see why we think the LitterHouse is the best litterbox on the market today. Competitively priced and the LitterHouse is the most functional litterbox available.
The Best Litterbox
The Results
By 2010 consumers of pet products will be spending $50 billion annually. I have personally contributed to this wealth in the pet industry. I purchased and tried, many of the types of litterboxes mentioned above. None of the litterboxes I purchased made me happy about my cats litterbox. The LitterHouse is a new product on the market this year. The invention was directly inspired by Sox, our cat. Why have a big whole in the front of the litterbox? We patented a walkway and attached it directly to the litter pan and put four walls around it.Now Sox has his own house. I scoop as usual and never have to vaccum or sweep. Easy, quick cleaning. Sox loves his LitterHouse and so do I.We spend so much money on our pets to keep them happy and healthy, why not buy a product such as a cat litter box that works! LitterHouse wins paws down!! www.litterhouse.com
<img width='1' height='1' Inorder to keep your cat happy here are some important cleaning tips. Daily clean up for less than 5 minutes is recommended your cat will be very happy. The LitterHouse a fully enclosed unique and antique litterbox you will be proud to own.
